The Company
Performance Building Automation seeks to provide top quality installation capabilities for controls companies, mechanical contractors, and anyone else who needs TC or low-voltage installation done with quality and functionality at the forefront.
The company was formed to fill a need for a capable and knowledgeable controls installer. In the past, both of PBA's founders had experienced delays, poor quality installation, customer complaints, damaged equipment and other issues due to the inexperience and lack of care shown by various installation subcontractors. They figured that other controls companies were running into the same kind of problems and decided to offer their own experience and common sense to satisfy installation needs in the Denver area.
With fifteen years of experience in the controls field, PBA approaches each job with the goal of making the installation not only look good, but also work properly. If a customer complains that their control panels look like a monkey wired them, and their expensive and crucial HVAC equipment doesn't work right to boot, that is wholly unacceptable.
At PBA, our goal is not only to ensure that the equipment does what it's supposed to, but also to be able to open any panel, junction box or ceiling tile and say to the customer, "Yes, we installed that, and we're proud of it."
Founder Biographies
Brian Curley - Began installing in 2005 as a helper during college and became a full time field foreman after graduation. He oversaw many projects to fruition, including a $90-million dollar government construction project. After several years in the field, he moved into the realm of engineering and project management and brought his intimate knowledge of the field into the management side so both aspects could realize maximum benefit. After taking sole ownership of PBA in 2016, he continues to operate as a one-man shop to deliver maximum quality to his customers.
Colin James - Started installing as a helper in 2003 and moved up to field foreman, where he successfully managed many projects to completion. In 2012 he took the Tridium Niagara certification course and added formal teaching to his self-taught programming skills. Combining field experience with programming experience and general knowledge of mechanical and controls systems, he spent several years as a programmer and software service technician. In 2016, he amicably left PBA and moved to the East Coast, where he continues to be at the top of his game in the controls field.
